Our Story

Conceptualized in early 2019, Beyond The Line was established in 2021 as a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation to provide support to our community of first responders which have suffered a catastrophic injury in the line of duty or been killed in the line of duty. These first responders selflessly put their lives on the line each day for our safety. When a tragedy occurs, seriously injuring or killing one of our first responders, Beyond The Line will be here to step in and assist the family immediately following and beyond. Our goal in providing assistance is to honor and remember the sacrifices made by these heroes. We believe our community has an obligation to care for the loved ones of those who have protected us. Beyond The Line accepts that responsibility.

Our Mission:

To provide assistance and support to first responders killed in the line of duty or that have suffered a catastrophic injury performing their duty.

Our Vision:

To provide immediate financial assistance for first responders seriously injured or killed in the line of duty and to provide long-term support to the families of first responders killed in the line of duty.

Our purpose is to provide a safety net with no strings attached.

Beyond The Line provides much needed immediate financial assistance and on-going community support to the spouses and dependent children of all Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters (including volunteer), Paramedics and EMTs within Baldwin County, Alabama and surrounding areas who have lost their life in the line of duty. We provide assistance and support to first responders that suffer a catastrophic injury performing their duty, as well. Deaths from natural causes, illness, or off-duty injuries are outside of our scope.

Beyond The Line assistance is immediate financial assistance and long-term community support. We aim to provide immediate assistance for household expenses, out-of-pocket medical expenses, or miscellaneous extraordinary expenses. Upon receiving notice of an in the line of duty death of a Law Enforcement Officer, Firefighter, Paramedic or EMT, his/her family will receive immediate financial support, as approved by the Director and/or Officers of the Board from Beyond The Line with the assurance of ongoing community support. Within a few weeks, a Beyond The Line representative will be available to meet with the surviving spouse to identify the family’s obligations and current needs.

We recognize the tremendous sacrifices that these public servants make every day when they put on their uniform and head to work. We understand the burdens placed on surviving spouses and children when tragedies occur. We believe our community has an obligation to care for the loved ones of those who have protected and served others. We accept the responsibility to make that happen.
